Quilts, Duvets & Bedspreads
Style Overview
We'll admit it... we've re-made a perfectly good bed just for the excuse to flip one of our quilts to its second side! Reversible designs, Kantha-style stitching and playful ruffle, tassel and fringe trims make bed-making the easiest decorating in the house. You'll find stitched bedspreads, gauze coverlets and euro shams too, in happy patchwork and colorful borders. Finish the look with our pillows and bedroom accessories, then stretch out and let your bedroom do a little more of the smiling.
Sizing for Your Bed
Before you fall head over heels for a print, grab a tape measure. Note the width and length of your mattress top, then add the depth of the sides, since that number decides how far your new bedspread will hang. A generous drape covers the box spring and gives the bed that finished, tucked-in-cottage feeling.
Sizing up is one of our favorite tricks! A king quilt on a queen bed gives you extra overhang on the sides and enough length to fold back over your sleeping pillows. It also means two people can each claim a fair share on frosty winter nights. If you prefer a tailored look with a bed skirt or a peek of a pretty frame, stay true to size instead.
Shams follow the same logic. Standard beds usually look balanced with a pair, while a king bed loves a row of euro shams across the back for that plush, sink-right-in effect. When in doubt, check the dimensions listed on each treasure before you order, and picture how it will sit on your actual bed.
Layering with Other Bedding
A quilt is the friendliest layer in bedding because it plays well with everything. On mild fall nights, use one alone over your sheets. When the temperature really drops, layer it over a duvet, or fold it in thirds across the foot of the bed so it's right there for midnight toe-warming duty.
Shams do a lot of quiet work here too. Stand our euro shams along the headboard, then let your everyday pillows sit in front, and suddenly the whole bed looks styled instead of simply made. Mixing prints is welcome and encouraged! Patchwork already blends colors and patterns for you, so pick up one or two of its shades in your other layers and everything will feel intentional.
We believe a bedroom should feel collected, not matched. Let the print do the storytelling, keep the base layers simple, and add personality with little touches from everything else in our home collection, from trinket dishes on the nightstand to a happy print on the wall.
Care That Keeps the Happy In
Good news: this bedding is made for real life, not for looking at from the doorway. Machine wash on a gentle cycle, then air dry, and check the care label on each treasure before its first wash for any specifics. The gentle cycle protects the stitching, and air drying helps ruffles, tassels and fringe keep their shape wash after wash.
A few easy habits go a long way. Wash with similar colors, skip harsh additives, and give trims a quick smooth-out while everything is still damp so they dry looking their best. Between washes, a morning shake-out fluffs everything right back up, and a spare quilt folded in the closet is ready for holiday guests.
If a coverlet comes out of the wash with a softly crinkled texture, that's part of the charm of gauze. Let it be its relaxed self rather than pressing it flat. It'll reward you with that lived-in look we're obsessed with!

FAQs
Are your quilts reversible?
So many of them are! Reversible designs give you a bold patchwork print on one side and a calmer companion print on the other. It's like getting two bedspreads in one, which makes redecorating as easy as flipping the top layer. Check each product page to see both sides before you choose, because picking a favorite is honestly the hardest part.
How do I wash a quilt with tassels or fringe?
Gently! Machine wash on a gentle cycle, then air dry, and always check the care label first. The gentle cycle is kind to the Kantha-style stitching, and air drying keeps tassels, fringe and ruffle trims looking full instead of frazzled. Smooth the trims with your fingers while they're still damp so they dry in shape.
What size quilt should I get for my bed?
Measure your mattress top, then add the side depth to figure out your ideal drape. True-to-size gives a neat, tailored look, while sizing up creates a fuller drape that covers more of the frame. Lots of the Natural Life Family size up on purpose for extra cover to share on cold nights. The dimensions on each product page will tell you exactly what to expect.
What goes under a quilt or bedspread?
Start with sheets you love, since they're the layer against your skin all night. Our Mix & Match sheet sets are made for pairing happy prints together. Once winter sets in, add a duvet or blanket underneath the top layer for extra warmth. On milder nights, the quilt alone may be all you need.
Do quilts make good gifts?
They make wonderful ones! A quilt is a big, warm hug of a holiday gift for a housewarming, a newlywed couple or a college girl coming home for winter break. We love pairing one with a smaller surprise, like one of our colorful sun catchers, so the whole bedroom gets in on the happy. It's the kind of gift that gets used every single day.
