We also believe in the power of community and the importance an inclusive society, where everyone can discover their talents and passions, and grow into their fullest potential. Earlier this year, Natural Life started a partnership with the North Florida School of Special Education (NFSSE), providing job opportunities for their students. We are so proud to share this partnership with such an amazing organization! NFSSE is making a remarkable impact on the lives of its students and their families, as well at the Northeast Florida community at large!
The North Florida School of Special Education opened its doors in 1992 (learn more about their history here), and serves students with intellectual and developmental differences between the ages of 6-22, while also offering a postgraduate program for young adults between the ages of 22-40. The North Florida School of Special Education is place for these students & young adults to learn, thrive, and become the best versions of themselves, in an innovative, academic and therapeutic environment.
Through our partnership with NFSSE, we have welcomed their talented postgraduate students into our warehouse, where they play a vital role in processing order returns and assisting with various tasks. NFSSE provides dedicated job coaches/employment specialists who work alongside the students during their time at Natural Life. However, these jobs promote independence, allowing the students to take pride in their work and experience a sense of accomplishment. We've had the pleasure of working with individuals like Jack and Amy, whose infectious positive energy brings a vibrant atmosphere to our returns department. Their dedication and abilities have impressed us so much that we believe they could work with us full-time, a testament to their skills and work ethic. We are so thankful for all of their hard work!
Outside of working in the Natural Life warehouse, the North Florida School of Special Education offers a wide range of other postgraduate programs that empower their students and enrich their lives. This list includes Berry Good Farms, Art with a Soul, the Delores Barr Weaver Therapeutic Equestrian Center, and many more innovative programs.
We are so grateful to be a part of the North Florida School of Special Education's mission and to witness the transformative effects it has on the lives of its students! NFSSE is fostering independence, building self-confidence, and creating a more inclusive society. Jacksonville is blessed to have such an incredible institution dedicated to the betterment of its community.
